The teaching kitchen is a hands-on learning environment that allows curriculum to be addressed through food and cooking while instilling a comprehensive understanding of food as it relates to health, culture and community.

Here children are able to explore, experiment, and discover new ideas about the food they eat.

For example our monthly cooking specials teach children that supermarket packaged food has a homemade alternative.

Our kitchen is equipped with two ovens, a stovetop, refrigeration, and a large working island for student gatherings. Students are able to work in small groups while utilizing some of the many pieces of kitchen equipment including pasta makers, bread and ice cream makers, whisks, measuring cups and spoons, etc.
